TO BAN GAS-POWERED LEAF BLOWERS
Township Committee Passes New Law to Take Effect January 1, 2023
The Maplewood Township Committee has unanimously banned gas-powered leaf blowers effective January 2023. This prohibition includes the use of gas-powered leaf blowers in the application of chemicals or products to treat bug or insect infestation. Electric and battery powered leaf blowers are permitted as follows:Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m, Saturdays 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m, Sunday use is prohibited. In the event of a weather emergency or other emergent circumstances, the Township Emergency Management Coordinator shall be permitted to modify the restrictions of this Ordinance.
